Global Odia Community Marks Madhu Babu Memorial Day with Launch of ‘Viksit Odisha 2036’ Initiative

On Madhu Babu’s memorial day, Odias worldwide gathered virtually to unveil the ‘Viksit Odisha 2036’ development roadmap, aiming to drive socio‑economic progress in the state over the next decade and a half.
The diaspora of Odisha, spanning several continents, convened online on Madhu Babu’s memorial day to introduce the ‘Viksit Odisha 2036’ programme. Organisers described the initiative as a comprehensive blueprint that targets improvements in infrastructure, education, health, and employment across the state.
Speakers highlighted that the plan incorporates inputs from overseas Odia professionals, NGOs, and government officials, seeking to align global expertise with local needs. The virtual gathering featured presentations on projected milestones for 2025, 2030 and the final 2036 target.
While the event was primarily digital, participants pledged financial and advisory support to accelerate key projects, especially in rural and coastal districts. The organisers urged the state government to adopt the roadmap formally, emphasizing its potential to attract investment and curb migration.
