A girl who lost her hand in a chainsaw attack in Andhra Pradesh has been moved to a specialised centre in Bengaluru for advanced medical care.

Police officials said a teenage girl was attacked with a chainsaw in a village of Andhra Pradesh, resulting in the amputation of her hand. The victim was rushed to the nearest medical facility where emergency surgeons stabilised her condition.

Following initial care, doctors transferred her to a tertiary care centre in Bengaluru, citing the need for specialised reconstructive surgery and advanced prosthetic fitting. The Bengaluru hospital confirmed that a multidisciplinary team, including trauma surgeons and physiotherapists, is now handling her case.

Local authorities have launched an investigation into the assault, and the police are seeking witnesses to identify the perpetrator. The incident has sparked concerns about safety in rural areas and the availability of prompt medical response for severe injuries.
