Kashmiri Gill has been reinstated in the Punjab Ranji Trophy squad for the upcoming season, while Mumbai will be fielding the side without Jaiswal and Mhatre.
Kashmiri Gill has been named in Punjab’s squad for the Ranji Trophy, marking his return after a brief absence. The announcement comes as Punjab prepares to face a tough schedule in the domestic tournament.
Gill’s comeback is seen as a boost for Punjab’s batting lineup, with the veteran cricketer expected to bring experience and stability. The selectors highlighted his recent form in club cricket as a key factor in the decision.
Meanwhile, Mumbai’s squad will be without key players Jaiswal and Mhatre for the opening fixtures. The absence of these regulars could impact the side’s balance as they look to secure early points.
Both teams are gearing up for a competitive season, with Punjab hoping to leverage Gill’s experience and Mumbai aiming to adapt to the loss of its senior players.
