Genrobotics has inaugurated a new facility at KINFRA Menamkulam in Thiruvananthapuram to design and manufacture robotics for defence, aerospace and space missions, marking its expansion in Kerala.
Genrobotics Ltd. opened a dedicated production unit at the KINFRA Menamkulam park in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday. The facility is equipped to develop and manufacture advanced robotics for defence, aerospace and space applications, aligning with India's growing strategic and technological ambitions.
The company said the plant will house state‑of‑the‑art labs, assembly lines and testing bays, enabling indigenous development of robotic systems for the armed forces and space agencies. It also aims to create a supply chain for high‑precision components within Kerala.
Industry analysts view the move as a boost to the state's emerging high‑tech ecosystem, noting that Kerala has been courting defence and aerospace firms to diversify its industrial base. Genrobotics plans to recruit engineers and technicians locally, further strengthening the region's skilled workforce.
The inauguration was attended by senior officials from the Kerala government and the Ministry of Defence, who highlighted the project's potential to reduce reliance on imports and foster self‑reliance in critical defence technologies.
