Gaurav Gogoi Highlights Chinese Border Incursions in Arunachal Pradesh

MP Gaurav Gogoi warned that recent Chinese movements along the Arunachal border constitute clear transgressions, urging a firm response.
New Delhi - Union Minister Gaurav Gogoi raised concerns in Parliament on Wednesday about what he described as repeated Chinese transgressions along the disputed frontier in Arunachal Pradesh. He said that both sides have not denied the face‑offs, but the pattern of incursions threatens the security of the northeastern state.
Gogoi urged the Ministry of Defence to intensify surveillance and to ensure that Indian troops are adequately positioned to deter any further advances. He also called for diplomatic engagement with Beijing to reaffirm the Line of Actual Control (LAC) as the recognized boundary.
The minister’s remarks come amid a series of reports of Chinese patrols moving beyond the LAC in the sector bordering the Upper Subansiri and West Siang districts. Indian officials have not disclosed specific numbers, but the incidents have heightened alert levels in the region.
Analysts note that the statements reflect growing unease in New Delhi over China’s strategic posture in the Himalayas, especially after recent infrastructure projects on the opposite side of the border. The government has pledged to strengthen infrastructure and logistics to support forward troops.
No immediate escalation was reported, and both armies continue to monitor each other’s movements while diplomatic channels remain open.
