Gauhati HC Seeks Assam, Arunachal Reply on Forest Encroachment by Nov 16

The Gauhati High Court has directed the governments of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh to file their responses on alleged forest encroachment by November 16.
The court issued a notice after hearing a petition concerning illegal encroachment on forest land in the two states. It asked the state authorities to clarify the steps taken to prevent and remove such encroachments. The deadline for submitting the affidavit or reply has been set for November 16, 2024.
