Garuda Aerospace has partnered with the Goa government to launch a training programme that will equip women with drone‑operating skills, aiming to boost employment in the emerging UAV sector.

Garuda Aerospace, a leading Indian drone‑service provider, announced a collaboration with the Goa state authorities to conduct a dedicated training programme for women aspiring to become drone pilots. The initiative, unveiled in a press briefing, will offer hands‑on instruction on UAV operation, safety protocols, and data analytics, targeting participants from diverse educational backgrounds.

The curriculum is designed to meet industry standards and will be delivered over several weeks at a training centre set up in Goa. Upon successful completion, trainees will receive certification recognized by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, enabling them to pursue commercial drone missions in sectors such as construction, agriculture, and surveying.

Officials highlighted that the programme aligns with the government's push to enhance skill development and gender inclusion in high‑tech fields. Garuda Aerospace will provide the necessary equipment, including training drones and simulation software, while the state will facilitate outreach and logistical support.

The first batch is expected to commence later this month, with a goal of training several hundred women over the next year, thereby creating new job pathways and fostering a more balanced workforce in India's growing drone industry.
