The District Collector of Gangtok visited the Martam Nazitam Gram Panchayat Office to assess damage caused by recent monsoon rains.
The heavy monsoon rains that hit Sikkim last week have left several rural areas in disarray, prompting a swift response from local authorities.
During a visit to the Martam Nazitam Gram Panchayat Office, the District Collector of Gangtok inspected the extent of the damage, noting that several roads and drainage channels had been washed away.
The collector observed that the office building itself suffered minor structural damage, with water seepage affecting the lower floors and several offices requiring immediate repairs.
He assured residents that the district administration would mobilise resources for prompt restoration, including the deployment of engineering teams and the allocation of emergency relief funds.
