In Shri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, alleged gangster Vishal Pachar issued a threat to an MKPA election candidate, demanding a payment of two crore rupees.

Shri Ganganagar in Rajasthan became the focus of a criminal intimidation case on Tuesday after local media reported that a man identified as Vishal Pachar, described as a gangster, threatened a candidate of the MKPA party. Pachar allegedly demanded a sum of Rs 2 crore from the candidate, linking the payment to the upcoming electoral contest.
The threat was conveyed through a recorded phone call, according to police sources, and the candidate reportedly informed party officials and local authorities immediately. The MKPA nominee, whose name was not disclosed, has denied any wrongdoing and has called for police protection.
Rajasthan police have opened an investigation, registering a case under sections relating to extortion and criminal intimidation. Officers said they are tracing the call records and have begun a search for Pachar, who is already wanted in several other cases across the state.
If apprehended, Pachar could face stringent penalties under the Indian Penal Code, including imprisonment and fines, as the authorities aim to curb the influence of organized crime on the electoral process.
The incident underscores growing concerns about criminal elements attempting to interfere with democratic elections in northern India, prompting calls for tighter security measures for political candidates.
