Gang-linked shooting in Mamdot, Punjab injures municipal chief

On Saturday evening, a sudden gunfire erupted in the market area of Mamdot, a town in Punjab's Firozpur district, when a vehicle carrying the Nagar Panchayat president was targeted.

According to local police, the car, which belonged to an associate of known gangster Gurpreet, was riddled with bullets, injuring the elected official and causing panic among shoppers.
