Gadchiroli police in Maharashtra recovered about 400 bottles of illicit liquor that were concealed inside the seats and fuel tanks of motorcycles during a recent raid.
Gadchiroli police in Maharashtra intercepted a large consignment of illegal liquor after discovering 400 bottles hidden inside the seats and fuel tanks of motorcycles. The seizure was made during a routine check aimed at curbing the illicit liquor trade that often fuels unregulated consumption and revenue loss for the state.
Investigators found that the smugglers had modified the motorcycles to create concealed compartments, allowing them to transport the alcohol undetected. Such tactics are increasingly common in remote districts where law‑enforcement presence is limited.
A police spokesperson said the operation underscores the department’s commitment to cracking down on bootlegging networks. The confiscated bottles will be handed over to the authorities for proper disposal, and further inquiries are underway to identify the broader supply chain.
