The newly appointed Superintendent of Police in Gadag district announced a tough stance against crime and urged residents to cooperate with law‑enforcement efforts.

The Karnataka government has recently assigned a new Superintendent of Police to Gadag district, marking a fresh leadership change in the region's law‑enforcement hierarchy. The officer, whose name was not disclosed in the report, assumed charge amid concerns over rising criminal activity.
He publicly pledged to adopt a "tough" approach, stating that his priority will be to curb offences that have troubled the local community. The SP emphasized that the police will not tolerate any form of lawlessness and will act decisively against perpetrators.
In addition to the crackdown, the officer appealed directly to citizens, urging them to support police initiatives by reporting crimes promptly and cooperating with investigations. He highlighted that community participation is essential for maintaining safety and order.
The SP also indicated that the department will increase patrols, leverage available technology and strengthen coordination among units to ensure a swift response to incidents across the district.
