FTL Holds Illegal Construction Near Kerwa-Kaliyasot: Dairy, Fish Farm, Restaurants

Investigations by the National Green Tribunal uncovered a paved structure 10 feet from Kerwa-Kaliyasot owned by FTL, housing a fish farm, dairy and numerous commercial outlets, while waterlogged plots have been illegally paved with pillars.
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has identified illegal construction activities by FTL near Kerwa-Kaliyasot, a waterlogged area on the outskirts of Bhopal. The company has erected a paved structure only 10 feet from the riverbank, which houses a fish farm, a dairy unit and several restaurants.
In addition to the commercial facilities, the investigation revealed that the waterlogged plots have been paved with pillars, effectively creating a road where no official permission has been granted. The construction violates environmental and land-use regulations that protect the Kerwa River basin.
Local authorities have been notified, and the NGT has ordered a detailed audit of the land use and environmental impact. FTL is expected to respond to the findings and may face penalties if the illegal activities are confirmed.
