The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has labelled a newly launched Nestlé product unsafe after a sample was tested at a Delhi hotel.
New Delhi – The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued an unsafe label for a recently introduced Nestlé product after a sample taken at a hotel in the capital was examined in its laboratory. The authority said the test results revealed that the product did not meet the prescribed safety standards, prompting the official warning. Nestlé has been asked to provide a detailed explanation and to halt distribution of the batch until further investigations are completed. The FSSAI has also warned consumers to avoid the product and has indicated that a recall could be ordered if safety concerns are confirmed. The agency reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding public health by rigorously monitoring food items across the market.
