French Minister of Foreign Affairs Benjamin Haddad is in India to discuss deepening strategic ties between the European Union and India.

French Foreign Minister Benjamin Haddad landed in India this week, marking a high‑level visit aimed at reinforcing the strategic partnership between the European Union and India. The delegation is scheduled to meet senior Indian officials to outline a roadmap for closer cooperation.
During the talks, both sides are expected to explore avenues for collaboration across a broad spectrum of strategic sectors, including defence, technology and climate action. The discussions will also assess ways to align their positions on global issues such as supply‑chain resilience and sustainable development.
The visit underscores the EU’s intent to deepen its engagement with India as a key partner in the Indo‑Pacific region. Officials from both sides indicated that concrete initiatives could emerge from the meetings, further solidifying the bilateral relationship.
The minister’s itinerary includes engagements in New Delhi, where he will present the EU’s strategic outlook and seek Indian input on joint projects that can enhance mutual security and economic growth.
