A free service camp offering drinking water, tea and biscuits was inaugurated at the Pitrpaksh Mela in Gaya by Minister Shravan Kumar and other local representatives.
Gaya, Bihar – On the opening day of the Pitrpaksh Mela, a free service camp was set up to cater to the basic needs of the thousands of pilgrims gathered for the annual ancestor‑worship ceremony. The camp was inaugurated by State Minister Shravan Kumar along with several elected representatives, who highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting devotees during the festive period.
The temporary facility provides drinking water, hot tea, biscuits and other essential items at no cost to the visitors. Organisers said the camp will operate throughout the fair, ensuring that pilgrims, many of whom travel long distances, have access to hygienic refreshments and basic comforts.
Officials expect the Pitrpaksh Mela to attract a large crowd this year, and the free‑service initiative aims to ease the logistical burden on families performing rites for their ancestors at the sacred Gaya sites.
