A man was charged after allegedly taking millions of rupees to arrange his son’s travel to Canada, failing to deliver the visa, and threatening the complainant with death if the money was demanded back.

A complaint was filed in Punjab police records alleging that a man promised to secure a Canadian visa for the complainant’s son in exchange for a large sum of money. The accused allegedly collected several million rupees but failed to deliver the visa or any related documentation.

After the promised services were not delivered, the complainant sought the return of the money. The accused reportedly threatened to kill the complainant if the amount was demanded.

The police have registered a case under the Indian Penal Code for fraud and intimidation. Investigations are underway to trace the accused and recover the funds. The case highlights the growing trend of visa‑related scams targeting families across Punjab.
