A student of VITS College in Satna was beaten by four fellow students after rejecting a boy’s advances; an FIR was lodged 38 days later.
Satna, Madhya Pradesh – Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) in a case where a female student of VITS College was physically assaulted by four other students. The complaint, filed 38 days after the incident, alleges that the victim was taken to a secluded spot on the college premises and beaten after she declined a romantic overture from a male peer.
According to the victim’s statement, the assailants not only assaulted her but also recorded the attack on video. She says the assault was pre‑planned, and the video was intended to intimidate her. The incident reportedly occurred in a relatively isolated area of the campus, away from other students and staff.
Local police have opened an investigation, questioning the four accused and collecting the video evidence mentioned in the complaint. The FIR cites charges of assault, criminal intimidation and violation of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act, given the victim’s age.
