Police in Bhopal recovered about Rs 2.5 million, a car and mobile phones and arrested four members of an inter‑state gang from Rajasthan.

Bhopal police announced the arrest of four individuals linked to an inter‑state theft ring that had broken into the vacant residence of the city's Assistant Commissioner of Police. The suspects, apprehended in Rajasthan, were taken to Bhopal where investigators recovered approximately Rs 2.5 million in cash, a motor vehicle and several mobile phones that had been stolen from the ACP’s property. Authorities said the gang had targeted the unoccupied house, exploiting its vacancy to loot valuables. The recovered items are being processed as evidence, and the accused are being held for further questioning. The case highlights concerns about the security of police officials’ residences and the cooperation between Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan police in tackling cross‑border crime.
