An IED exploded on the Pakistan‑occupied side of the Line of Control (LoC) near the Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the deaths of four individuals. The blast was reported from the side of the territory administered by Pakistan.
Security agencies on both sides of the LoC immediately stepped up monitoring and patrols, urging troops and civilians to remain alert. The area has been cordoned off as investigators work to determine the source of the device.
The incident adds to a pattern of sporadic violence along the contested border, where cross‑border firing and explosive attacks have periodically disrupted the fragile peace. Authorities have reiterated that vigilance will remain high to prevent further casualties.
No additional injuries were reported, and the site continues to be examined by forensic teams to gather evidence for a thorough inquiry.
