Four hospitalized after chlorine gas leak at Sehore water plant

A chlorine gas leak at a water treatment facility in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh, has resulted in four people being admitted to hospital.
A sudden release of chlorine gas was reported at the water treatment plant in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh. Local residents heard a hissing sound followed by a strong, irritating odor, prompting an immediate evacuation of the surrounding area.
Emergency services arrived within minutes and rescued several workers and nearby residents. Four individuals, two plant employees and two civilians, were taken to the district hospital with symptoms of respiratory irritation and eye discomfort.
The plant management confirmed that a faulty valve in the chlorine storage unit caused the leak. Officials from the state health department have been deployed to monitor the affected persons and to ensure that the water supply remains safe for public consumption.
