Delhi’s Dussehra festivities saw four effigies set ablaze, contrary to the usual three.
Delhi marked the Hindu festival of Dussehra by burning four effigies of mythological figures, a departure from the traditional three. The ceremony, held in the capital, featured the usual figures of Ravana, Kumbhkarna and Meghnad, along with an additional effigy that was also set alight. Organisers said the extra figure was included to underscore the triumph of good over evil in a more elaborate display. Observers noted the larger pyre drew sizable crowds, reflecting the city’s enthusiasm for the annual event. No incidents were reported, and the event concluded without any disruptions.
