A car traveling on the Dausa‑Agra highway burst a tyre, veered off and fell into a ditch, killing four people.
A private vehicle en route from Khatu Shyam to Agra on the Dausa‑Agra highway suffered a sudden tyre burst, causing the driver to lose control. The car veered off the road and plunged into a shallow ditch on the outskirts of Dausa district in Rajasthan.
Emergency services and police were alerted immediately. Rescue teams reached the scene, but four occupants of the vehicle were pronounced dead at the spot. The remaining passengers sustained injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Local police have opened an investigation to determine the exact cause of the tyre failure and to assess whether road conditions contributed to the accident. A senior police official said a detailed report will be submitted after forensic examination of the vehicle and the tyre.
The incident has raised concerns among pilgrims traveling the route, especially after the recent influx of devotees returning from the Khatu Shyam temple. Authorities have urged travelers to exercise caution and ensure vehicle maintenance before long journeys.
