The state weather department has warned of a four‑day storm period starting today, with the Gwalior‑Chambal belt expected to bear the brunt, while Ujjain, Sagar and Rewa divisions also face heavy rains.
The Madhya Pradesh Meteorological Department issued an advisory on Tuesday indicating that the state will experience a continuous spell of storms for the next four days. The warning highlights the Gwalior‑Chambal region as the area likely to receive the most intense weather, with heavy rain and gusty winds expected throughout the period.
Authorities in the adjoining divisions of Ujjain, Sagar and Rewa have also been alerted to prepare for similar conditions. Local officials are urging residents to secure loose objects, avoid non‑essential travel, and stay updated with real‑time forecasts.
Pre‑emptive measures such as clearing drainage channels and positioning emergency response teams are being undertaken to mitigate potential flooding and water‑logging. The department will issue further updates if the situation escalates.
Citizens are advised to follow safety guidelines issued by the state disaster management authority and to heed any instructions from local police or municipal bodies during the storm period.
The weather bulletin will be reviewed daily, and the public is encouraged to monitor official channels for the latest information.
