Four arrested in Vidisha after police seize ₹2.5 million loot from murdered merchants

Police in Vidisha’s Shamshabad area arrested four suspects from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh after reviewing 550 CCTV recordings. The raid recovered silver, gold, a motorcycle and goods worth about ₹2.5 million.
A father‑son duo who owned a local trading business were shot dead and robbed in the Shamshabad locality of Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, according to police reports. The incident prompted a swift investigation by the district police.
Investigators examined an extensive cache of 550 CCTV clips from the surrounding area, which helped identify four suspects who had travelled from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. All four were apprehended in a coordinated operation earlier this week.
During the arrests, police recovered a substantial cache of stolen items: 7.2 kilograms of silver, 25 grams of gold, a motorcycle and three sealed boxes containing merchandise valued at approximately ₹2.518 million. Sources said the accused were preparing to flee to Nepal before being intercepted.
The case is now under further inquiry, with the suspects being remanded in custody pending trial.
