Former legislator Atar Singh Bhadana succumbed to injuries after a violent dispute over a crusher plant and mining lease in Bharatpur’s Vair area, dying near Dausa while being transferred to Jaipur.

A heated confrontation over the route of a crusher plant and a mining lease erupted in the Vair locality of Bharatpur, Rajasthan, turning violent and leaving former MLA Atar Singh Bhadana seriously wounded. The clash involved local contractors and workers who opposed the proposed alignment, leading to a physical brawl that required police intervention.

Bhadana was rushed to a nearby medical facility in critical condition. As his condition deteriorated, authorities arranged for his transfer to a tertiary hospital in Jaipur. While being escorted near Dausa, he suffered cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead on the spot.

A post‑mortem examination has been ordered by the district magistrate to determine the exact cause of death and to assess any foul play. The police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the clash, detaining several participants for questioning.

The incident underscores the recurring tensions in Rajasthan’s mining sector, where disputes over land use and licensing often lead to confrontations. Local officials have urged stakeholders to resolve such matters through legal channels to prevent further loss of life.
