Former West Bengal minister Indranil Sen was taken into custody by Kolkata Police as he appeared before the Enforcement Directorate in the Puja pass sale investigation.

Former West Bengal minister Indranil Sen was detained by Kolkata Police on Tuesday after he appeared for questioning by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Puja pass sale case. The ED, which is probing the alleged sale of puja passes to the public during the Durga Puja festival, has been investigating irregularities in the distribution of passes. Sen, who served as a minister in the state cabinet, was taken into custody at a police station in Kolkata and is expected to be released on bail pending further proceedings. The police said the detention was part of the normal procedure for a person under investigation. The ED has asked for documents related to the sale of puja passes and has called for a detailed audit of the transactions.

The case has attracted public attention as it involves the misuse of public resources during a major cultural festival. Authorities have stated that the investigation is ongoing and that no charges have yet been formally filed against Sen. The ED is expected to file a charge sheet once the inquiry is complete.
