Former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Announces Retirement from Electoral Politics

Siddaramaiah, the former chief minister of Karnataka, announced his retirement from electoral politics in a statement released on Sunday. He said that the political environment has become deeply polluted and that he can no longer contribute effectively as a candidate. The former CM, who served two terms in office between 2008 and 2018, will not contest any future elections. He added that he will continue to support the Indian National Congress from within the party and help nurture new leaders.
