Former Gujarat CM Shankersinh Vaghela to Join Congress, Says Amit Chavda

Former Gujarat chief minister Shankersinh Vaghela, who led the state from 1995 to 1996, has reportedly agreed to join the Indian National Congress. The decision was confirmed by senior Congress leader Amit Chavda, who said talks with the party's high command are underway. Vaghela's move comes as the Congress seeks to broaden its appeal in Gujarat, a state where it has struggled to gain a foothold. No official statement from the party has yet been released, but insiders say the alignment is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the party's presence in the western state.
