Former BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu was detained by Punjab Police today after he staged a protest outside the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) gate as Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s cavalcade passed through Ludhiana. Bittu held up a bottle of liquor toward the convoy, claiming he was "returning the bottle" to the Chief Minister and urging him to enjoy his liquor while accusing AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal of looting Punjab from Delhi. The incident occurred as CM Mann arrived at PAU for the Kisan Mela and was reported by The Tribune.

Bittu also referenced an earlier incident in which eggs and tomatoes were allegedly thrown at his convoy near Batala during the BJP’s Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra. He said that his vehicles were damaged and that he had returned the eggs and tomatoes to the Chief Minister’s convoy as a symbolic gesture. Bittu described the attack as an attempt to intimidate him and his party.

Speaking after the protest, Bittu warned that if AAP workers were to protest against BJP leaders, then BJP workers would exercise their democratic right to protest against the Punjab Government and its leaders. He added that the party would not remain silent and would continue to raise issues concerning Punjab.

Bittu declared that the BJP would organise peaceful democratic protests outside the Chief Minister’s programmes and offices whenever required, stating that political opposition cannot be silenced through police action and that BJP workers would answer every democratic protest democratically and stand with the people of Punjab.
