Rising waters of the Ganga and Gandak rivers have inundated villages, roads, the Jodawanpur police station and the local market in Raghopur, Vaishali, prompting the closure of 40 schools.

The Ganga and Gandak rivers have swelled again, pushing water levels high enough to flood large parts of Raghopur block in Vaishali district, Bihar. Several villages in the area are now under water, and main thoroughfares have been rendered impassable.

Local authorities report that the Jodawanpur police station premises and the central market of the block are completely submerged, disrupting daily commerce and law‑enforcement activities. Rescue teams have been deployed to assist residents stranded in affected hamlets.

In response to the rising waters, the district education department ordered the suspension of classes in 40 schools across the block. Parents have been advised to keep children safe at home until the situation stabilises.

The administration is monitoring river levels continuously and has warned of further escalation if the water does not recede. Relief measures, including temporary shelters and food kits, are being coordinated with state disaster management agencies.

Officials urge citizens to avoid non‑essential travel, follow safety advisories, and cooperate with rescue personnel as the flood situation develops.
