The monsoon rains that have battered Bihar this season have turned Begusarai into a flood zone, with water levels rising to submerge 169 schools across the district.
The inundation has forced the district education office to suspend all exams and school activities for roughly 40,000 students. In addition, 22 schools are currently operating as relief camps, providing food and shelter to flood victims.
Local authorities have deployed emergency teams to clear water and restore transportation links, while the state government has pledged additional resources to help affected schools resume normal operations as soon as possible.
