The Jammu & Kashmir Police has transferred five senior officers to its newly established Cyber Crime Coordination Centre to strengthen digital crime investigations.

The Jammu & Kashmir Police announced the transfer of five senior officers to its Cyber Crime Coordination Centre, a move aimed at strengthening the state’s digital law‑enforcement capabilities.

The officers, who hold ranks ranging from Deputy Inspector General to Superintendent, will be responsible for coordinating investigations of cyber fraud, identity theft and online extortion cases across the Union Territory.

The centre, which was set up last year, serves as a hub for forensic analysis, intelligence sharing and inter‑agency collaboration, and the new appointments are expected to accelerate response times to emerging cyber threats.

The transfer comes as the state reports a sharp rise in cyber‑crime complaints, prompting the police to expand its specialized units and enhance training for officers dealing with digital offences.
