A collision between a passenger bus and a bulk carrier on a Madhya Pradesh highway left five people dead and around twenty injured, prompting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to express condolences.

Earlier today, a passenger bus travelling on a Madhya Pradesh state highway collided with a large bulk carrier. The impact caused the bus to overturn, trapping several occupants inside the vehicle.

Rescue teams from the district administration, along with police and medical personnel, rushed to the scene. They extricated the injured and transported the seriously hurt to nearby hospitals, while the deceased were taken to the local morgue.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, upon learning of the tragedy, conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims and urged authorities to intensify road‑safety measures.

The police have opened an inquiry to determine the exact cause of the crash and to assess whether any traffic violations contributed to the accident.
