First Hapus Mango Crate Arrives in Pune from Konkan, Priced at ₹41,000

A shipment of the prized Hapus mango, sourced from Maharashtra's Konkan belt, reached Pune this week, marking the first crate of the variety to be logged at the city market. The arrival was recorded by local traders who noted the box's entry into the supply chain.

The inaugural crate commanded a price of ₹41,000 per box, a figure that underscores the fruit's premium status among mango connoisseurs. Traders indicated that the valuation reflects both the limited seasonal availability and the high demand for Hapus mangoes in urban centers.

Hapus mangoes, celebrated for their rich flavor and aroma, are typically harvested between May and July. The Pune market’s acceptance of the first crate suggests that growers are poised to expand distribution to meet consumer appetite across the state.

Market observers anticipate that subsequent consignments will follow, potentially stabilising prices as supply chains mature. For now, the ₹41,000 benchmark serves as a reference point for growers and sellers alike.
