Vigilance officers from Firozpur detained SHO Sunita Rani of Kot Ise Khan police station in Moga for allegedly accepting a ₹50,000 bribe, also apprehending a home‑guard personnel.
The Firozpur Vigilance Department has arrested Sunita Rani, the Sub‑Inspector in charge of the Kot Ise Khan police outpost in Moga, on suspicion of taking a bribe of Rs 50,000. The operation was carried out at the police station premises, where the officer was taken into custody.
During the same raid, a home‑guard personnel attached to the station was also seized for alleged involvement in the same corrupt transaction. Both individuals are being held for further questioning by the vigilance team.
Authorities said the case will be forwarded to the district court for trial, and that strict action will be pursued under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The vigilance officials emphasized that the arrest underscores their commitment to rooting out corruption within the police force.
