A first information report has been lodged against DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin for allegedly involving a minor in a poll campaign in Dharapuram, Tamil Nadu.
Police in Dharapuram, a town in Tamil Nadu's Tiruppur district, have registered a first information report against Udhayanidhi Stalin, a prominent leader of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). The FIR alleges that the politician involved a child in activities related to his election campaign, a move that contravenes child protection norms.
According to the complaint, the minor was used to attract voters and distribute campaign material during the ongoing poll season. Investigators are probing the extent of the child's involvement and whether any electoral code violations occurred.
