Father Stabbed to Death at New‑born Celebration in East Delhi’s Kalyanpuri

A newborn celebration turned deadly on Wednesday night in Kalyanpuri, East Delhi, when a group that arrived to collect a traditional gift stabbed the baby's father, killing him and wounding two other men.
On Wednesday night, residents of the Kalyanpuri locality in East Delhi were hosting a small gathering to mark the birth of a son. The celebration was abruptly interrupted when a group of men, identified as members of the Kinnar community, arrived at the venue to collect a customary gift known as "neg".
According to eyewitnesses, one of the young men accompanying the group produced a knife and thrust it into the father of the newborn, resulting in his immediate death. Two other men, described as the victim's relatives, sustained injuries during the altercation but survived.
The incident was reported to local authorities, and an FIR has been lodged. Police officials indicated that investigations are underway to identify the motive behind the attack and to apprehend those responsible.
