Around 150‑200 people, including 50‑60 motorcycles and a few private vehicles, joined farmer leader Nareś Meña’s ‘Kisan Hunkar’ bike rally that set off from the Kamakhēṛā Balaji Temple in Jhalawar on Friday morning.

A farmer‑led procession titled “Kisan Hunkar” rolled out from the Kamakhēṛā Balaji Temple complex in Jhalawar on Friday morning, under the leadership of Nareś Meña. The rally was organised to highlight a range of agrarian grievances and to mobilise support ahead of a scheduled visit to the Baran district collectorate.

Organisers reported that between 150 and 200 participants gathered, travelling on roughly 50‑60 motorcycles accompanied by five to six private cars. The convoy moved in a disciplined formation, with riders wearing helmets and displaying banners demanding timely loan waivers, better irrigation facilities and fair procurement prices.

The rally’s immediate objective was to reach the Baran Kachahri, where farmers plan to present a petition to district officials. While the demonstration remained peaceful, authorities were briefed in advance and have deployed traffic personnel to ensure smooth passage through the town’s main arteries.

The event reflects a broader pattern of farmer mobilisations across Rajasthan, where seasonal distress and policy delays have spurred a series of localized protests. Stakeholders are watching closely to see whether the Baran authorities will engage with the demands put forward by the rally participants.
