Madhya Pradesh police uncovered a counterfeit IAS identity after raiding Trupti Rajput’s residence, seizing a fake CBI card and a government vehicle. She had duped four youths of ₹9.80 lakh by posing as a tourism officer and was arrested with her brother.
Police in Madhya Pradesh intensified the probe into Trupti Rajput, who pretended to be an IAS officer to carry out scams. A raid conducted by Chanderi police in the villages of Bagamugalia and Alkapuri yielded a counterfeit CBI identification card and a government‑issued vehicle, both of which were seized as evidence.
Investigators said Rajput, using the false title of a tourism official, approached four young men and collected a total of ₹9.80 lakh under the pretext of facilitating travel arrangements. The money was transferred to her accounts before the fraud was uncovered.
The suspect was taken into custody along with her brother, who is also being questioned. Authorities have opened further inquiries into her network and any additional victims, while confirming that the case remains under active investigation.
