A video circulated online claiming to show MK Stalin’s arrival at an INDIA Bloc protest is actually an older clip unrelated to the event. The fact‑check confirms the footage was misused to create a false narrative.
A recent fact‑checking report has clarified that a video widely shared on social media, purportedly showing the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin arriving at an INDIA Bloc protest, is in fact an older clip unrelated to the current demonstration. The footage, which was originally recorded months ago, was repurposed by a user who claimed it depicted Stalin’s arrival.
The fact‑checker examined timestamps, metadata, and the context of the original recording. It found that the video was taken during a different event and does not feature Stalin at all. The misrepresentation was likely intended to influence public perception of the protest.
Authorities and the political parties involved have not issued any statements regarding the misuse of the video. However, the incident highlights the growing issue of misinformation circulating on digital platforms, especially during politically sensitive times.
The fact‑checking organization urges viewers to verify sources before sharing content and to be cautious of videos that appear to support a particular narrative without corroborating evidence.
