Excise Officials Raid Illegal Liquor Outlet in Madhugiri, Seize Over 13 Litres of Liquor and Beer
On 2 October 2026, excise officials conducted a raid on the Rishi Complex (Deluxe) in Madhugiri taluk after receiving a tip-off from social activists, seizing 6.570 litres of liquor and 6.500 litres of beer.
The raid was carried out by the Madhugiri sub-division excise team under the guidance of Excise Deputy Superintendent Deepak R. Officials targeted the premises operating without proper permission in the CL‑7 sanction area of the complex.
Social activists Madhugiri Mahesh and Agrahara Nagaraju had alerted authorities about the illegal liquor sale taking place in the premises, prompting the excise department to act.
During the operation, authorities confiscated a total of 6.570 litres of liquor and 6.500 litres of beer present at the site. A case has been registered against the accused B. J. Manjudeyy bin Lee Junjanna and associated parties under the Excise Act, with further investigation underway.
The excise team involved in the raid included Inspector Link Hanumanthayya, Inspector Lata B., Sub‑Inspector Manu B. J., and Constable Nagesh Babu Ji, who actively participated in the successful operation.
