Ex-Chhattisgarh Official Arrested

A retired IAS officer, Taman Singh Sonwani, has been taken into custody for his alleged role in the CGPSC paper leak. The Enforcement Directorate arrested Sonwani on July 25. He is accused of amending recruitment rules in 2021 to benefit his family members. As a result, his relatives were appointed as deputy collector and DSP. The special court has granted seven days of ED custody for further investigation. The arrest is a significant development in the case, which has raised concerns about the integrity of the recruitment process in Chhattisgarh.
