EVML glitch stalls results in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota and another municipal body elections

A technical fault in electronic voting machines delayed the counting of results for several wards in four Rajasthan municipal bodies, including Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota.
During the counting phase of Rajasthan's urban local body elections, officials encountered a malfunction in electronic voting machines (EVML). The fault affected a number of wards across four municipal corporations, notably in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota, halting the tabulation of votes in those areas.
The State Election Commission confirmed that the glitch is limited to specific polling stations and does not invalidate the entire election process. Technicians have been dispatched to diagnose and rectify the issue, and the commission has pledged to release the pending results as soon as the machines are verified.
Election observers noted that such technical setbacks, while rare, can temporarily stall the announcement of outcomes but do not alter the overall vote count. The commission is also reviewing its contingency protocols to prevent similar disruptions in future elections.
