Engineer found dead in Jalandhar, girlfriend arrested on suspicion of involvement

Jalandhar police reported that the body of a 30‑year‑old engineer was found late Tuesday in a residential area of the city under circumstances that appear suspicious. The deceased was identified through personal documents recovered at the scene, and relatives were notified of the tragic loss.

Investigators quickly focused on the victim's close associates and, within hours, placed his girlfriend in police custody. She has been charged with obstruction of justice and is being held for further questioning, though no formal charge of homicide has been filed yet.

Senior police officials said the motive behind the death remains unclear and that forensic examinations are underway. The case is being treated as a criminal investigation, and authorities have appealed to anyone with additional information to come forward.
