The Election Commission has extended the deadline for voters who were left out of draft electoral rolls in seven states and union territories to register themselves.

The Election Commission of India has reopened the registration window for voters who were omitted from the draft electoral rolls in seven states and union territories. The draft rolls, released earlier this year, had inadvertently left out a number of eligible voters, prompting the Commission to allow them to apply for inclusion. Applicants can now register online through the official portal or by visiting their nearest electoral office, submitting the required proof of identity and residence. This move is aimed at ensuring a more inclusive and accurate voter list ahead of the forthcoming general elections. The Commission expects a significant number of registrations and will update the rolls accordingly once the applications are verified.
