Elderly Bhopal Woman Lured by Fake Cash, Stripped of Mangalsutra and Earrings

A 62‑year‑old patient discharged from Hameediyah Hospital in Bhopal was deceived by two men posing with a bundle of counterfeit notes and lost her gold jewellery, police say.
Bhopal police are probing a fraud case involving a 62‑year‑old woman who was discharged from Hameediyah Hospital earlier this week. After leaving the hospital, she was approached by two unidentified men who claimed to be carrying a large packet of cash. To gain her trust, the men displayed what appeared to be a bundle of banknotes and persuaded her to accompany them.
The duo led the woman to a nearby location where they handed over the supposed cash pack. When she opened it at home, she discovered that the bundle contained only waste paper. In the process, the men seized her gold mangalsutra and a pair of ear tops, items of significant sentimental and monetary value.
Local authorities have registered a case of theft and fraud, and an investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. Police have appealed to the public for any information that could help locate the suspects.
