Three days after a trekking group of eight went missing in Uttarakhand, authorities continue a race‑against‑time rescue operation.
A group of eight trekkers disappeared in the mountainous terrain of Uttarakhand three days ago, prompting an intensive search operation. Local authorities, aided by forest and disaster‑response teams, have been combing the area using foot patrols and aerial support. The exact location where the group was last seen remains unclear, complicating rescue efforts.
Rescuers are focusing on high‑risk zones such as steep ridges and dense forest patches, where visibility is limited. Weather conditions have been variable, adding further challenges to the ongoing operation. Families of the missing have been kept informed, and community volunteers have also joined the effort.
Despite the passage of 72 hours, no concrete leads have emerged, and officials have warned that the window for a successful rescue is narrowing. The search is expected to continue around the clock until the trekkers are located or further information surfaces.
