Eight police personnel were suspended after investigators found they allegedly released two drug suspects for cash during a raid in Fulwarisharif, Patna.
Patna police carried out a raid on suspected drug dealers in the Fulwarisharif area of the city. During the operation, two individuals were apprehended on suspicion of involvement in narcotics trade.
Subsequent inquiries revealed that eight police officers allegedly accepted money to release the two detainees, prompting the department to suspend them pending further investigation.
The suspensions were announced by senior officials of the Bihar Police, who said the action reflects a zero‑tolerance stance toward corruption within the force. A detailed probe is underway to determine the extent of the misconduct and to decide on any additional disciplinary measures.
