A mini-bus carrying about 25 pilgrims fell roughly 15 feet from a bridge on the Delhi‑Mumbai Expressway near Seemalia in Kota, Rajasthan, killing eight and wounding more than 15.
A severe road accident occurred on the Delhi‑Mumbai Expressway near Seemalia in Kota district, Rajasthan, when a tempo‑traveller loaded with roughly 25 passengers lost control and plunged about 15 feet into a drainage channel beneath a bridge. The vehicle, a mini‑bus, overturned and fell from the bridge, trapping many inside.
Emergency services, including police, fire personnel and local medical teams, rushed to the scene. Rescue crews used cutting equipment to reach those trapped and transported the injured to nearby hospitals. Preliminary reports confirm eight fatalities, all identified as devotees, and more than fifteen people sustained injuries ranging from minor cuts to serious fractures.
